Initially 280.00 hectare waste, stoned, herbed and shrubed land is acquired from Department of Agriculture, Saurashtra State in 1951-52. After 3 years hard work, this land is brought under cultivation. In year 1956, Agricultural Research work is started. 113 hectare adjoining land of Maharshi Dayanand Trust is donated to Government of Saurashtra, in 1960. Agricultural University, Junagadh is established in 1960. After establishment of Agricultural University, to enhance research work of different crops, the land is transferred to different crop specialist from Sagadividi. Now a days this farm consist 77.78 hectare total land and 66.56 hectare cultivated land. This centre consists and maintain the orchard of mango, chiku and ambla. |
