Dr. N. C. Patel, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, JAU presided over the function, and Shrimati Manjulaben Gohel, President of the Veraval-Patan Joint Municipality was the Chief Guest. Shri Lakhambhai Bhensla, Director, Sea Food Exporters’ Association (Gujarat region), Shri Riteshbhai Fofandi, Leading Fish Exporter, Shri Bhagubhai Solanki, President of Fishermen Community of Jafrabad, Dr. Badoniya, Scientist-in-charge, CIFT-Veraval, Dr. M. Koya, Scientist-in-charge, CMFRI-Veraval and Dr. A. Y. Desai, Principal and Dean, College of Fisheries, Veraval were present as the Guests of Honour.

            Fish and shrimp farmers, leading industrialists in fisheries sector, officers from various state and central government agencies and students attended this seminar. An exhibition of aquaculture products covering feeds, shrimp seeds, chemicals etc. was simultaneously organized, wherein seven private sector companies took part with their exhibition stalls. A souvenir with relevant articles was released during the inaugural session. 

            During the programme, progressive fish and shrimp farmers and entrepreneurs of the Gujarat state were felicitated for their dedicated services and perseverant efforts in development of Aquaculture sector of Gujarat. Three graduates of College of Fisheries, JAU, Veraval who have successfully developed entrepreneurship in the shrimp farming business were felicitated during the seminar.
