College of Veterinary Science and A.H.,Junagadh in collaboration with Dog Care Hospital, Junagadh organized “DOG CARNIVAL AND FUN SHOW 2020 ” on 7th March, 2020 at TVCC ground College of Veterinary Science and A.H., J.A.U., Junagadh.
To boost Pet keeping awareness among the citizens of Junagadh and to provide practical exposure to students regarding various dog breeds, College of Veterinary Science in collaboration with Dog Care Hospital, Junagadh organized “DOG CARNIVAL AND FUN SHOW 2020 ” on 7th March, 2020 at TVCC groundCollege of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh.
The Inaugural function was presided by Dr P.H. Tank, Principal & Dean, COVSAH, Junagadh. Dr Dheeraj Mittal,DCF, Gir ( West), division graced the occasion as chief guest of the function. Dr A.M. Parakhia, Member, Board of Management, Dr P.M. Chauhan I/c Registrar, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh also graced the occasion .The function was also attended by many dignitaries and university officers. A small booklet containing comprehensive information of Indian dog breeds and pamphlets containing information for pet owners were also released .All participants were awarded a kit and a participation certificate. Pet owners along with their pets participated in various events like Best of Breed, Best of Show, Prettiest Bitch, Handsome Dog, Adorable Puppy, Most appealing eyes, and Best child handler. An obedience test was also performed by Shri Shivraj Jhala from Jamnagar. Around 170 pet owners registered for the event. At the end of the event the winners were awarded trophies in various categories by Dr. V.P. Chovatia, Hon’ble Vice chancellor, JAU, Dr. V.R. Malam, Director of Students’ Welfare, JAU, Dr. P.H. Tank, Principal and Dean, COVSAH and various other dignitaries. Pet owners were also provided deworming, Dog grooming, deticking, shampoo bath, counselling and technical guidance on various areas like vaccination, nutrition and management of pet keeping. It was a good learning experience for all students of veterinary college as they were exposed to various breeds of the dogs.
