A Guest Lecture on “Veterinary Education in India” was organized by College of Veterinary Science & A.H., JAU, Junagadh on 5th September 2019.
As a part of Teachers’ day celebrations in the morning session, fourth year and fifth year B.V.Sc & A.H. students acted as course teachers and taught one full lecture to first, second and third year B.V.Sc & A.H. students. The students used various teaching aids available in the class room. In the post noon session, a guest lecture of Dr A.M. Patel, retired Professor and Head, dept. of LPM, College of Veterinary Science & A.H., AAU, Anand was arranged from 4.00 to 5.00 PM.The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. P. Mohnot, Associate Director of Research JAU Junagadh, Dr. V. R. Malam, Director of students’ welfare, JAU Junagadh, Dr. P. H. Tank, Principal & Dean College of Veterinary Science & A.H. acted as chairman of the function.
Dr. Arun Sharma, Assoc professor & Head, dept. of Vet. Physiology and Biochemistry welcomed all the dignitaries and delegates Dr A. M. Patel, a distinguished teacher, speaker, academician and subject expert delivered his lecture on “Veterinary Education in India” .A total of 234 students and various faculty members attended and actively participated in the event. The speaker interacted with the students and invited interaction regarding usefulness of various teaching aids and various practical difficulties they face. Dr. P .H. Tank delivered his presidential address and stressed the qualities of a good teacher. At the end of the lecture the convener of the programme Dr. A. R. Ahlawat presented the vote of thanks and acknowledged the joint collaboration with SRC and NSS units of college of Veterinary Science & A.H.
