Tree plantation programme was organized as a part of Green Initiative by College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, JAU, Junagadh in and around newly built Instructional Livestock Farm Complex (ILFC) of JAU Campus on 23rd July, 2019 at 8:30 am. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, JAU, Dr. A. R. Pathak performed Gau Pujan and planted the first sapling. Dr. V. P. Chovatia, Director of Research and Dean PG Studies, Dr. P. V. Patel, Director of Extension Education, Dr. P. M. Chauhan, Registrar, Dr. V. R. Malam, Director of Student Welfare, Dr. D. S. Thanki, Campus Engineer and Deans of various faculties and Unit Heads of other colleges of JAU actively participated and planted the saplings. NSS students and staff of College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry planted varieties of plants which will provide shade and shelter to the animals throughout the year. The entire programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. P. H. Tank, Principal and Dean, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry. All in all, 300 saplings were planted with the aim to provide green cover. Dr. K. Ravikala, Professor and Head, Instructional Livestock Farm Complex, extended thanks to all for their gracious presence and for making the programme a grand success.
