2. Hostel |

The boy and Girls students of the agriculture faculty are accommodated in different hostels under the head rectorship of Dr. P. J. Gohil as below. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Each hostel has common facilities of general meeting and prayer hall. Each hostel block has a separate kitchen, pantry and dining hall with all types of facilities for running mess. Students are managing all the messes on co-operative basis under the guidance and supervision of Asstt. Rector in each block. Water coolers and R.O. plants are also provided in each block. The hostel blocks have colour T.V. for recreation and a small reading room. The students’ committee under the guidance of Rector handles hostel management. There is permanent facility for the supply of hot water in each hostels.

3. Library |

The users of University library from different colleges, research stations and polytechnics under Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh are acquainted with different services of the University Library viz. Books, Periodicals, E-books, Back Volumes, Newspapers, Online databases, CD Rom Databases etc.
Collection:
The University Library possesses around 585000 books. These books are very valuable and helpful in *studies, research and preparation for competitive examination and around 16000 back volumes.
Services:
Cyberary with 100 mbps LAN connectivity facilitates users to access online database like J-Gate plus (Complete) and Commodity. Our library has 907 e-books. Facility by ICAR for foreign Journals through Online Access of Journals through Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture (CeRA) and KRISHIKOSH, CMIE Commodity are available and CD-ROM databases like CAB, AGRICOLA, AGRIS with latest data are available for the users. All the theses of different disciplines of the University and few rare books are digitized so that they can be preserved and when need arises can be available for reference to the users in future. Theses are also uploaded in Krishikosh. The University Library is fully atomized after the implementation of RFID system. Full time internet, scanning and CD writing facilities are available for the students in the Cyberary in which there are 30 work stations with internet access. Both faculty and students on an average of daily 300 to 350 users are extensively utilizing these facilities for about 12 hours per day. Students are provided with books of their concerned subject of their respective semesters through BOOK BANK facility, Library subscribes 9 newspapers to acquaint users with daily news. The University Library has the facility for air conditioned Reading Room for the students. The circulation and check in check out of library material is done through RFID system through KOHA software. The library renders its services to the users from 8:00 to 18:10 hours. The Air Conditioned Reading Room accommodating around 125 students remains open from 8.00 hours to 23.00 hours and from 8.00 AM to 14.00 PM during weekend holidays The circulation counter, the Cyberary and other services are open to the readers during working days, while the reading room remains closed only during national holidays.
